Ozan Demir

Ozan Demir, an alumnus of Yeditepe University's architecture program, embarked on a transformative journey exploring the fascinating world of sound engineering. His path led him to ITU MIAM, where he pursued a master's degree and is now dedicated to his doctoral studies in the same place.

In the realm of sound engineering, Ozan's proficiency is a harmonious blend of skills. With finesse, he operated sessions and has had the experience of recording ensembles of up to 40 musicians, along with his collaborations with esteemed artists like Chromas, Cevdet Erek, Dzambo Agusevi Orchestra, Kollektif Istanbul, and Luna Ersahin. His pioneering work with Chromas and Peradi has been recognized in the industry, particularly in the realm of spatial acapella recordings. His expertise also extends to spatial production design.

Outside the studio, Ozan's curiosity thrives in the world of audio programming, a passion ignited during his time at ITU MIAM. A guitar player for over 20 years, he gracefully navigates traditional instruments like kaval, zurna, and baglama. With humility, he imparts knowledge through workshops at esteemed institutions across Europe, including Denmark's Royal Academy of Aarhus.

A devoted musician at heart, Ozan is a co- founder of Seyyah, a band that celebrates and unites diverse cultural influences. His journey also includes additional notes with AySay music band. He has had the privilege of contributing as a musician, arranger, and sound engineer on Aysay's DMA Roots award-winning album "Su Akar" and their upcoming album "Köy," scheduled to be released in October 2023.

As he ventures forward, Ozan envisions exploring the spatial dimensions that technologies like Dolby Atmos offer, with the aim of pushing the boundaries of sound itself. His aspiration lies in crafting innovative projects that artfully blend traditional instruments with modern technology, weaving diverse cultural tapestries into the universal language of music. Through his work, Ozan aims not only to create sound but to humbly craft transformative experiences that resonate deeply with audiences, transcending time and culture.
